A competitive gathering of B14s arrived at the Mayflower Sailing Club all fired-up and ready for the 4^th TT event of the season.

Dave Hayes and Rich Bell (North Sails - Gul) dominated the third round of the Ullman Sails UK circult, Mark Watts and Chris Bishop (Ullman Sails) took 2nd on count back from Tim Harrison and Johnny Ratcliffe

Dave Hayes and Rich Bell took victory in a close event at Brightlingsea.

Congratulations to Nick and MJ who showed the fleet how to sail the shifts at Rutland. Or was it MJ's new go faster hair!

Also well done to the Ullman Sails team of the weekend. Rhys and Simon for slugging it out to be one of the few boats to complete all 4 races and showed up many of the fleet with some awesome starts!

Light to Moderate conditions gave the fleet a shake up today as the shifty and gusty winds threw havoc into some outcomes for the day

Nick Richardson and Mark Padgett snatch a small lead over Dave Lorimer and Rafael Heale as Guy Bancroft and David Grace slide down the results table as the breeze freshens on day 2

Guy Bancroft leads after the first day of racing in testing weather. The fleet experienced light conditions in race one. Race two saw the breeze build to see some of the heavier crews move up in the fleet.

We are pleased to announce that the 2010 B14 Nationals will be held in the North East at Sunderland Yacht Club.  The confirmed dates of the event are three days from Friday 10th September  to Sunday  12th September inclusive. The club's website is here.

We have been invited back to Excel and asked to hold skiff racing at the London Boat Show, for the last four years it has been a tremendous success and a real crowd puller. Once again we will have a live commentary and a feed back into the show – it is a must for anyone who needs exposure for their sponsor.
The event will take place in the docks next to Excel on the last Saturday of the show – 16th Jan. This year it will be 29ers, 49ers and B14s.
If you speak to anyone who has done it in the past they will tell you it is quite an experience, we can only take up to 10 boats, up from 6 in previous years per class. The prizes are well worth having.
If you would like to come there is free parking and free tickets to the show. Dave Hall can usually get extra free tickets for family and friends.
The time table is 3 (no discard) races per fleet starting at 12 00 for the 29ers, 1300 for the 49ers and 1400 for the B14s with a prize giving on the main stage in the show at 1700.

Don't miss your opportunity to take part and give your sponsors an excellent day of exposure. We will have the various top winners over 2009 attending and if you'd also like to attend please list on the thread on the forum.

The final event of the B14 TT Series for 2009 is almost upon us. Final positions are still to be decided.  The first race at Grafham is scheduled for 11.30 with a 10.30 briefing. Congratulations to Tim & Johnny for taking the title over the weekend in some challenging conditions, well sailed guys and thoroughly deserved... even if they did do it without attending the socials ;)

I have the pleasure in confirming the 2010 worlds will be hosted by the Yacht Club de Carnac over the period of  8th to 16th July 2010 (more details to follow)

8th to 10th: Pre Worlds (European Championship TBC)

Good Friday brings much attention to the sport of sailing within Tasmania with the Hydro Tasmania Three Peaks Race. The B14's are going along for the third year to feature in the pre start events on the day.
