Adrian and John beswick hooked up on the leward mark in light conditions with a strong tide on day 1 of the Tamar Marine BlockBuster

The 2015 Tamar Marine Blockbuster has been run and won, another fantastic weekend sailing at Port Dalrymple Yacht Club, Robbie Hunt and his Rockstar crew, Ben Price sailed their boat, The Hitcher to victory after going into the second day with 4 bullets which allowed them to hold off an onslaught from Nick Richardson and the father son Beswick combination.

Undoubtedly a great first day for the Hunt Price combination, 4 wins from varying placegetters put them 8 points clear of any other boat. Overall the day favoured the lighter crews with Hunt and Price doing well closely followed by locals, Chris Wells and Rani Dabner who scored two seconds and a couple of 5ths. Nick Richardson teamed up with long time B14 sailor, Lauren Keil after a 5 years absence from the class to sail in AUS 369, Craftsman Homes and went into the second day in equal second place with Steve Miller and Lauren Bird, sailing Phantom with the return of the father son Beswick combination back in 4th position.

Day two and slightly more wind meant that the fleet was shaken up and those sporting a little more weight were fairing much better. Race 1 went to Richardson from Beswick and Miller with a very close finish and many changes to the positions throughout. Stronger breezes and a good start allowed the Beswicks to turn things around and continue improveing their regatta score of 5,3,2,2 and complete with a 1 holding a clear lead from Hunt and Richardson. Race 7 saw Beswick continue to capitalise on the stronger conditions working the big top main upwind with speed and hitting the right downwind to snare a second victory for the regatta from Richardson and Hunt.

The Final Race went to overall winners, Robbie Hunt and Ben Price who again proved why they came out on top claiming the win from local combination, Wells and Dabner and thirs, Miller and Bird.

Overall the win went to Hunt and Price in The Hitcher from the Beswicks in Rocketship and Richardson and Keil in Craftsman Homes. A huge thank you to all volunteers on and off the water, that got all the races done and our briliant catering crew that kept us very well feed.
