Stokes BayBit late getting this up, but this weekend 20th/21st April sees us travel to lovely Stokes Bay for the first actual event of the year (following the Rutland cancelleation). This year as well as the Musto fleet we are sharing the event with the RS400s and RS100s, so it should be a good sized event and there is a great social planned which will include the infamous Dan Vincent quiz and a Mount Gay Rum promotion (those who attended last year speak highly of the Sunday morning...)

FIRST START IS 1230 SATURDAY

NOR text is available in the Forum (http://www.alan-davis.net/sites/b14/forum11/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2649&start=15#p18029)

For those on last minute plans, there are several B&Bs within longish walks/shortish taxi rides in Gosport, or camping in the boatpark at the club.

Stokes Bay run a good event with a slick race team, and launching is easy at most states of tides.

Talking of tide, for anyone getting there early local legend (!) Russ Clark will be giving a talk at the club on Friday evening at 7:30 on weather and tides - this is free to attend and all are welcome. There's food available, but this needs to be pre-ordered by Wednesday - see the club site for more details: www.stokesbay-sc.co.uk

Meanwhile, not attending will be Rob Taylor (GBR 321) - on Sunday he's getting up nice and early to go for a short jog around London. He's raising money for the RNLI - donations can be made here: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=RobTaylor40

Hopefully we'll be able to get the telly on in the bar on Sunday morning to try to spot him whilst we're tucking into bacon rolls.

[WEATHER UPDATE: big low pressure system should blow through by Thursday night at the latest, leaving a dominant high pressure which looks like giving light southerlies and clear skies]
