Whitstable B14s pass on the sad news that Suzi Cannon, tiny helm of B14 team with husband Richard, passed away on Saturday after valiant fight against cancer.

Suzi was indomitable in spirit with courage to take on anything. Having to learn how to sail later in life for the first time whilst helming an Olympic class Tornado catamaran, she did not flinch at the wonderful eccentricities of the B and loving every second of sharing Richard's and her mutual passion for the boat.

With a young family, travelling to events was not an option but Suzi and Rich would make the best of any opportunity to be on the water at Whitstable, even in between chemo sessions. Gentle in nature, Suzi hid

a core of firey determination and enthusiasm that lead her to a success as a competitive road cyclist, downhill mountain biker (often beating the boys) and passionate squash and tennis player. As probably the tiniest helm the fleet has seen, Suzi showed that with the right heart anything is possible in a B, and in life in general.
