Phaedrus Estate, 2017 B14 Victorian Championship
Safety Beach Sailing Club, March 18th to 19th and Black Rock Yacht Club, April 1st and 2nd.
Day one of the New South Wales State Titles done and dusted! The winds were fair, sun shining and traffic a plenty on Sydney Harbour.
There was a great turn out with 9 boats in attendance making for some good competitive racing. Spectre, fresh from Garda, lead the field with Hunt Leather, The Nude and Bandit in close pursuit all day. Extremely close racing between Usain Boat, Toxic and Yellowbone with only 1 point separating them, The Beast showing grit and determination improving placings throughout the series. Early in the first race Orca Blush had gear failure which took them out of the days racing. And rumour has it that for the 2nd time only in B14 history Richie (not Lissa) raised his voice at another competitor!
A big thank you to Woollahra Yacht Club for hosting a great series. Stay tuned for Day 2 coming to Illawarra Yacht Club, March 12th. Home to Bandit, Usain Boat and Toxic. See you there!

PDYC Blockbuster setting the scene for Tassie Sailors preparing for the Nationals and Worlds in 2018
The 2017 PDYC Blockbuster got underway today in a superb 15 to 22 knot breeze North Westerly breeze. A spread of classes have attended the regatta with Sabot, Laser, NS14 and B14 classes attending.
A fleet of 8 B14’s racked up for the racing today, an improvement on last year’s 4 boats. The fleet was put to the test with strong gusts as they made their way out to the start line. With the tide down low, the race committee was forced to lay the course close to inspection head wharf.
