The first B14 Ullman Sails TT event of 2011 took place at Rutland Sailing Club on the 26th and 27th March 2011.
It was a light forecast but on the Saturday the fleet were greeted by a Force 3 easterly which gave the crews a chance to blow away the cobwebs in which most cases it was their first outings of the year.
Saturday brought gusty winds which gave the fleet a lot of opportunities for overtaking downwind, making the racing very close with frequent place changes and most races getting decided on the last run.

Skiff champion wins State title
The 9th Tasmanian B14 State Titles were run by Midway Point Yacht Club over the weekend 26th - 27th March. Former dual National and runner up World Champion Nick Richardson won the series but not without some close tussles during the 8 race series. As is always the case with B14s the racing was very close with most races only decided in the last few metres, this proved exciting for the spectators and great fun for the sailors.

So that was a big day. Got out on the water and popped the kite. boat feels good. By the start the breeze had picked up to a solid 22 to 25 knots and there were more boats upside down that the right way up. Got off the line first in the devil and headed for the top mark. So many boats weren't on the line that we managed to get up around the top mark in first position. at the mark we were on the bare away when we heard a mighty big crack, rounded the boat up and tipped over. Nothing broken but feeling like there was too much on than the boat could take, we headed for the shore.
